Augustiner Drei Mühlen is a Bavarian restaurant tucked a bit outside Munich’s busiest tourist spots, offering a robust taste of traditional local dining. The atmosphere here leans into the classic Wirtshaus vibe—unpretentious, busy, and full of life—where the steady hum of conversation mixes with the clinking of glasses featuring the house Augustiner Helles straight from the tap.

This spot is especially suited for those who come with a hearty appetite and a curiosity for schnitzel prepared in more ways than you might expect. The menu highlights a variety of schnitzels like the Schnitzel Trilogie, which pairs nicely with seasonal sides such as Rammschwammerl (mushrooms) and Spätzle, as well as other Bavarian staples like Weißwurstfrühstück (traditional white sausage breakfast) and Kaiserschmarrn for a sweet finish.

A visit here feels like joining a local dinner rather than just being a tourist catching a meal. While the restaurant fills up in the evenings and on weekends, this lively energy suits anyone looking for a genuine Bavarian night out rather than a quiet meal. It’s a place where you’ll find locals settling in with an Augustiner Weißbier or a pretzel, and newcomers being warmly welcomed by attentive staff who know the menu well.

Augustiner Drei Mühlen works well for groups of friends eager to share large plates or anyone wanting to explore different schnitzel styles in a relaxed setting with rustic charm. It also appeals to those who appreciate traditional Bavarian hospitality in a spot that is a little off the beaten path compared to the center of Munich but well worth the short trip.

This is my favourite restaurant in Germany! Wow, what an experience. This felt like a true German night out, the beers were flowing, the people were friendly, the wieners were schnitzeling. The food was amazing, and the staff were so welcoming. If anyone asks me where to go in Munich, this is it. My only regret is that I don’t live in Munich or I would be here every week.

A busy local restaurant specializing in schnitzels. They have a comprehensive schnitzel menu that offers schnitzel prepared in different styles. We ordered one with the pork marinated in the local sweet mustard and breaded with pretzel, another with the pork stuffed with obatzda, the local cheese spread, and both tasted wonderful. Definitely recommend for any schnitzel lover or anyone simply looking for a good Bavarian food experience!

One of my new top favorite meals! Service was exceptional, food was ridiculously great and the restaurant was very quaint and charming. We had the traditional schnitzel with mushroom sauce…WOW!!! Thank you for a perfect meal!!!

A restaurant with a large menu of schnitzel types. I ordered the triangular schnitzel and my partner ordered a regular schnitzel. Of the triangular schnitzel I ordered, I especially liked the schnitzel with mustard, which was really delicious. I think we were the only tourists. The restaurant is not in the center of Munich. One of the places we really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and the service.

Drei Mühlen: A Taste of Authentic Bavarian Hospitality Drei Mühlen, nestled in Munich, offers a quintessential Bavarian Wirtshaus experience that's both authentic and inviting. This traditional eatery, known for its hearty portions and connection to Augustiner beer, consistently delivers a satisfying meal for both locals and visitors. One of the standout features of Drei Mühlen is its commitment to authentic Bavarian cuisine. Expect classic dishes like schnitzel (with various preparations, including the "Drei Mühlen" style), robust roasts, and a variety of sausages, all prepared with a traditional touch. The overall consensus is that the food is very good and truly representative of the region. The atmosphere at Drei Mühlen is typically Bavarian – lively, a bit chaotic at times (especially when busy), but ultimately welcoming. For those seeking a quieter experience, there's often a hidden courtyard accessible through the building, a real gem for a more relaxed meal. The staff is generally friendly and attentive, contributing to the overall positive dining experience. Of course, no Bavarian Wirtshaus review would be complete without mentioning the beer. As an Augustiner establishment, Drei Mühlen offers excellent beer, a perfect accompaniment to the rich, traditional fare. Pros: - Authentic Bavarian Cuisine: Generous portions of classic dishes. - Augustiner Beer: Excellent selection of one of Munich's beloved breweries. - Traditional Atmosphere: A genuine Wirtshaus feel, often bustling with locals. - Hidden Courtyard: A quiet alternative for outdoor dining. - Convenient Location: Easily accessible by public transport (S2 to Petershausen/Altomünster). Considerations: - Can be busy: Especially during peak hours, it might be a bit chaotic. Overall: Drei Mühlen is a solid choice for anyone seeking an authentic and satisfying Bavarian dining experience in Munich. Whether you're craving a traditional schnitzel with a cold Augustiner, or simply want to soak in the local atmosphere, Drei Mühlen delivers. It's a place where you can expect good food, good beer, and a genuine taste of Munich.

It's a really good place to eat in a traditional Bavarian restaurant. The place is small but has tables outside. The food is really good and affordable the service is effective and warm. I had a great time and all that walking was worth it. Make sure to walk around the neighborhood as there are many local breweries and restaurants and it is very cute.

Made a reservation . Sat at the bar. Why make a reservation then for 1 person? Was seated in front of the kitchen. Servers were very nice. Well worth dining here. Make a reservation. Menu is all in German so be prepared. Study it ahead of time or bring your google translation lol. Would I go back? Absolutely
